Josh Wainwright - Lloyd & Jones PR Racing BMW Round 10 - Donington Park

Josh Wainwright and the Lloyd & Jones PR Racing BMW made some progress at round ten of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Donington Park this weekend. Josh had two solid results for the team with a 17th and 18th positions.

It was a tricky start to the weekend at Donington for Josh as he had a crash in second practice on Friday that did some extensive damage to the bike. The PR racing team worked extremely hard into the late hours of Friday night to get the BMW fixed for the third practice session on Saturday morning.

Josh was 23rd in the session and was looking forward to qualifying; he was able to take off half a second in qualifying and started race one from 23rd place on the grid. Josh held his position after lap one but soon was able to work his way up the field over the 18-laps. He ended up finishing in a strong 17th place.

For race two he started from 23rd again and he was keen for another good result. He got a great start and was 18th after the first lap; he dropped back to 21st place by lap 11 but worked hard to push his way back up to 18th position.

Josh Wainwright - "It was a really tough start to the weekend after I crashed in FP2 on Friday. I tucked the front but the bike dug in and flipped which caused a lot of damage to the BMW, I am really sorry to the team for that.

The PR Racing team did an amazing job to get me back out on Saturday and I can't thank them enough for that.

The races were tough but I really enjoyed race one and felt like we made a lot of progress. I was pleased with the result and excited for the second race.

I pushed too hard too soon in the second race and struggled with grip after only four laps so it was a battle to bring the bike home.

I had a good weekend in general and it has helped me build my confidence and I am really looking forward to getting to Assen."
