Joe Collier and the One Call JJR
Triumph had solid weekend at round eight of the MCE British Supersport
Championship at Cadwell Park. The youngster from Leicestershire made a lot of
improvements this weekend and finished the two races with a 12th and
ninth place respectively.
It was another circuit where the
One Call team had to find a set-up to suit the very tricky Cadwell Park track.
The practice sessions were hard for Joe but they persevered making changes and
he was able to have a steady qualifying and placed 16th on the grid
for the Sprint race on Sunday. Joe got a good start and was 13th at
the end of the opening lap; he worked hard for the 12 lap race and was able to
finish in 12th place.
For race two Joe started from
15th and he got another great start and was up to 13th at
the end of the opening lap. Joe once again is always strong over a race distance
and he was able to make up good ground throughout the 16-lap race. He moved up
to a top ten position on lap 10 and continued to push forward to secure ninth at
the end of the race.
Joe Collier - "It is always really hard to
go to a circuit with no data and I feel like we are always on the back foot
trying to sort everything in two practice sessions on the first day. It then has
a knock on effect to qualifying as I am still trying to find a good, comfortable
set-up and end up with a lower grid position that I would have
liked.
Luckily I've always been a racer
and I know I am fit and am capable of a good race pace. I got two really good
starts which did give me more of a chance to be fighting for some half decent
positions.
My confidence is certainly
building again and we are definitely making some progress forwards. I must thank
all my personal sponsors for being so patient with me for the results to come
but we are certainly making good improvements and now taking things
forward.
