The
final weekend in February sees Suzuki’s Australian Superbike Champion
Josh Waters start his defence in the hotly-contented series at Phillip
Island that will run in conjunction with the opening round of the World
Superbike Championship onboard the new Team Suzuki ECSTAR GSX-R1000. In
America, AMA/ FIM World Supercross moves to Tampa, Florida for round 8,
and the second round of the 250 East Coast series, where Jimmy Decotis
scored third place aboard his Autotrader/ Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z250 last
weekend at Arlington, Texas.
February 24-25th: Round 1. Australian Superbike
Championship. Phillip Island Circuit. Australia. Reigning Champion Josh
Waters is joined on the new Team Suzuki ECSTAR GSX-R1000 Superbike by
Markus Chiodo as three races will be held at the opening round of the
World Superbike Championship. Waters has already set Pole Position.
February 24th: Round 8. AMA/ FIM Supercross World
Championship. Tampa. Florida. USA. Weston Peick continues to impress in
the 450 class aboard his RM-Z450 and currently holds 5th in the points
after 7 of 17 rounds. He will be joined by Malcolm Stewart and defending
West Coast 250 Champion Justin Hill in the main class as last weekend’s
East Coast 250 rider Jimmy Decotis hopes to improve his position aboard
the RM-Z250.
