One podium down, round two to
go
It was a great weekend in Qatar for the British Talent Team, as John McPhee just missed the win and came home on the podium in the project’s debut race. With a bit of momentum now rolling, next up is the Gran Premio Motul de la Republica Argentina at Termas de Rio Hondo: the passion of Latin America.
The track is relatively new, and joined the
MotoGP™ calendar in 2014. It’s 4.8km long, with five left-handers and nine
right, and the longest straight is just over a kilometer – always an important
statistic for the kings of slipstreaming in Moto3™.
McPhee is a fan of the venue and was seventh at the track last year after a stunning comeback from P28 on the grid - with the Scot looking to move even further forward this season. Low levels of grip often greet the paddock on arrival in Argentina and the weather is never guaranteed, so adaptation could well prove the key to success in the land of the tango.
Moto3™ are first out on Friday as the schedule returns to normal, with the British Talent Team on track for FP1 at 09:00 local time (GMT -3), and the race set for Sunday at 13:00 local.
