Next objective for the Mahindra Pull&Bear Aspar: Qatar

The Moto3 World Championship is edging ever closer with just one more preseason test to come now in a week's time in Qatar. After the last of three days at Jerez, the fastest man of the test was Nicolò Bulega, thanks to his best effort yesterday (1'46.232), although he was just three hundredths off that lap today as he again finished as the fastest man on track. Aron Canet (1'46:338) finished second fastest, followed closely by Jorge Martín. Jakub Kornfeil, Romano Fenati and Marcos Ramírez complete the top six, with the riders now taking a short break before heading to Qatar for three final days of test from 17-19 March.
Mahindra Pull&Bear Aspar riders Lorenzo dalla Porta and Albert Arenas completed the Jerez session with positive vibes as they now look forward to making their final preparations for the season in Qatar. The Italian finished the test with the fastest time of the two (1'46.990), which he set yesterday, after completing a total of 157 laps. Today Dalla Porta focused on improving his race pace and refining his chassis with the next test in mind. Arenas completed a mini race simulation in the second of the three sessions today, maintaining a pace that was similar to his fastest lap. The Spaniard's best lap overall came today (1'47.502) as he took his total for the three days to 144 laps.

19th Lorenzo Dalla Porta 1:47.311 (44 laps): “It has been a very interesting third day. We improved our race pace even though we didn't do a simulation because we still have work to do. We are getting close to where we need to be and it will be important to arrive in Qatar feeling calm and confident that we can take that next step and be pushing at the front. I know that we can and that is what we are going to try. We get the new engine in Qatar and for sure it will help. The key is to have the best possible set-up for the chassis.”
22nd Albert Arenas 1:47.502 (45 laps):“Our overall reflections from Jerez are good. This morning we tried for a fast lap but we were a few tenths short. Then for the second session we decided to try a race simulation, although it was the hottest part of the day. Even so, I felt comfortable, I set a consistent pace and I was close to my best lap. We are working with the new suspension and shock they brought for us here to try and find some more pace. We are finding a good set-up and I hope that when it comes to Qatar and we need to find something extra for a fast lap we can make the most of the soft tyre and also complete another race simulation to make sure we are competitive on a used tyre.”
