Josh Wainwright - Lloyd & Jones PR Racing BMW Round 11 - Assen

Josh Wainwright and the Lloyd & Jones PR Racing BMW had a tough weekend at the penultimate round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Assen. He secured a 26th and 28th place respectively.

Friday was a really difficult day for Josh at the superfast Assen circuit. An engine problem in FP1 prevented him from doing many laps and he was taken out early on in FP2 by another rider, during the whole day Josh managed to complete only seven laps.

This certainly put him on the back foot for Saturday but despite the lack of track time Josh had a good third session and was 18th in tricky conditions. However he struggled during qualifying and ended up starting race one from 29th place on the grid.

He got a steady start and was able to improve on his qualifying time during the race. He kept motivated during the race and finished in 26th place after the 18-lap race. He was placed in 29th place again for race two and he pushed hard to 28th, he was able to improve his times throughout the weekend.

Josh Wainwright - "We have really tried hard to keep pushing forward. Friday was a disaster at Assen and we just had to rule the day out and cram everything else into Saturday and Sunday.

We did make some progress in the short time scale that we had to find a set-up for the extremely fast Assen circuit. We were a little down on speed and hopefully we can sort something for the final round of the season and we can make some progress there.

I love Brands it is my home round and I really hope I can end the season with some good results.

We tried really hard in Assen to move things forward but things just didn't go our way. Thanks again to the team for all their hard work and effort that they put in, roll on Brands!"
