Reigning 2015 British Supersport
Champion, Luke Stapleford will take on a new challenge for the rest of the 2016
season. After a troubled start to the year Luke parted company with his team and
will head to TT Assen Circuit next weekend and will race the machine he won the
British Championship on.
The Profile Racing team have kindly
been granted an allocated grid slot by Dorna on the World Supersport grid for
the remainder of the World Superbike season. They have re-formed the winning
team from 2015 and have re-gained the services of crew chief and technician
Tristan Palmer, who helped Luke in his bid to winning the Championship last
year.
The team will have to make some
changes to the Triumph 675 in order to abide by the World Supersport
regulations. The team are confident with the right people around them now they
will make some good progress and Luke will be able to demonstrate his form from
2015.
This project would not have been
possible without the help of Dorna plus the sponsors of the team - Profile
Enterprises Ltd, Triumph, Ohlins, Integro Doodsons, Motul, Advanced Signs and
Designs, Arai, Forcefield, RST, Century Security, PRC Fabrications, JT
Performance, Daytona and Stakssprays.
Pete Stapleford - Profile
Enterprises Ltd - Team Owner - "We are lucky to be in
this position and with the help from Dorna we are able to continue in the World
Championship for the remainder of the season. We are working extremely hard on
the old bike to bring it in-line with all the World Supersport rules. It is a
refreshing feeling knowing now we have a very capable and professional team
around us that all work well together. We have the right people involved now and
we hope to go into each round feeling positive with a view of securing some
strong results on the world stage."
Luke Stapleford - "It has been a tough start to the
year in the World Supersport class but hopefully we will now have a bit more
normality within the team we can move forwards at each round. I am looking
forward to racing my old bike and having a great team and fantastic support
around me. I can't thank my sponsors enough and the help we have been given to
make this happen it is very much appreciated."
