JAKE DIXON RECOVERS POSITIONS AND GOOD FEELING IN ARGENTINA

An incident with another rider on his flying lap prevents Sama Qatar Ángel Nieto Team rider from improving further on second day at Termas de Río Hondo

Xavi Vierge is proving himself as one of the men to beat in Moto2, claiming the second pole position of his career today in Argentina. His first also came here at Autódromo de Termas de Río Hondo one year ago and this time he will be joined on the front row of the grid by Marcel Schrotter and Sam Lowes. Series leader Lorenzo Baldassarri starts from eighth despite lapping just 0.249 seconds shy of pole, with the 18 riders that contested Q2 all lapping within nine tenths of a second.

Jake Dixon continued to make progress on the second day at Termas de Río Hondo, qualifying in 28^th position after being held up by another rider. The British rookie enjoyed a positive final free practice this morning but was unable to make the most of it during qualifying and he will have to make up for lost time in the race. Xavi Cardelús continued to close the gap to the riders in front of him as he also improved his knowledge of the bike and track.

28^th Jake Dixon 1:44.571: “The morning session went well but in qualifying I wasn’t able to show the full potential of the bike or myself because I ran into another rider who was waiting on the racing line. There are guys out there who are not concentrating on what they’re supposed to be doing and it could have led to an accident. It also makes tomorrow’s race a difficult job now.”

31^st Xavi Cardelús 1:45.363: “We are on an upward curve and making progress every time we go out on track. We are still lacking a little but we are closing the gap. I am happy with this tendency although I think we could have given a little more. I am learning how to run in a group, which I was struggling with more in Qatar but I am adapting more to here.”
