The
2016 Moto3 World Championship resumes this weekend in South America: the second
round on the calendar, the Grand Prix of Argentina, takes place at the Termas de
Rio Hondo circuit, characterised by fast, long-radius corners, which debuted in
the Championship just two years ago, in 2014.
The Gresini Racing Team Moto3 is starting the weekend determined to play a leading role with Enea Bastianini: the 18-year-old rider from Rimini, who collected a good fifth place finish in the opening round in Qatar, still showing the speed to fight for the win in the final stages of the race, will work right away on the set up of his Honda machine to prepare the race. Last year Bastianini fought in the leading group until the end, closing in ninth position after a contact on the final lap.
His teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio, will continue his apprenticeship in the World Championshop: in Qatar the young rookie from Rome crossed the finish line in 26th place, gaining valuable experience throughout the 18-lap race. The goal in Argentina is trying to build on what he learned in the first race, in order to take another important step forward.

“In Argentina we will find a
track with similar characteristics to that of Losail, fast and flowing:
therefore it will be important to be strong right from the first free practice,
so we can work immediately in the right direction with regard to the set-up for
the race. In Qatar we could understand many things and we start from a good
base, so we expect to be competitive”.
FABIO DI
GIANNANTONIO
“I will face the Grand Prix of
Argentina with more experience: the first race in Qatar has taught me a lot,
especially I was able to watch the riding style of the other riders during the
race and the most important thing I learned is that I need to improve my riding
on corner entry. The goal is to improve the result obtained in Qatar, and I will
give all my best to succeed. Meanwhile, at home I have been training a bit with
the PlayStation to begin to understand the circuit, where I have never raced
before”.
FAUSTO
GRESINI
“In the first Grand Prix in Qatar
we have gathered some positive feedback, so we arrive in Argentina confident:
the track is beautiful, and last year we have been competitive with Enea, who
fought in the leading group until the end, losing only a few positions due to a
contact on the last lap. The goal is to improve the result obtained in Qatar,
although we know that is never easy in an hard fought Championship like Moto3.
However, Enea is confident and we will give him maximum support. The Honda is a
competitive bike and we already have a good base set-up, so we just need to stay
focused and work well for the race. On another track that he has never seen, Di
Giannantonio will continue his apprenticeship: Fabio is very young and so eager
to prove his potential, but right now he only needs to maintain the right
tranquility and certainly the results will come. We will give him the time to
grow up”.
