LUCIO CECCHINELLO AND LCR: 30 YEARS IN THE MOTORCYCLE RACING WORLD, 20 YEARS OF HISTORY AS A TEAM AND 10 YEARS IN MOTOGP

 2016 is an important milestone for Lucio Cecchinello and the LCR Honda Team. There are three anniversaries that occur in the month of March: 30 years of career for the former pilot and Team Manager, 20 years competing as a Team in the World Championship and 10 years in MotoGP with Honda.
It was March 1986 when a seventeen years old Lucio entered the circuit for the first time ever as a mechanic in the Honda NS 125 Italian Trophy.
10 years later LCR Team (Lucio Cecchinello Racing) was born, taking part at his first official GP on March 29, 1996 on the Malaysian circuit of Shah Alam in the 125cc class.
Throughout the years, team manager and flag carrier of the team Lucio Cecchinello was joined by talents of the two wheels as Nobby Ueda, Roberto Locatelli, Alex De Angelis, Mattia Pasini, Casey Stoner, Randy De Puniet and David Checa.
After quitting his career as a professional rider, in 2003 Lucio decided to entirely focus on his role as a Team Manager. The hard work and determination paid back giving the LCR Team the opportunity in 2006 to debut in the Premier Class in style with the talented Aussie Casey Stoner, who on March 26 took his Honda RC211V no.27 for the first time on the track of Jerez de la Frontera in LCR colors.
In the following seasons other great champions like Randy De Puniet, Carlos Checa, Toni Elias, Stefan Bradl, Jack Miller and Cal Crutchlow (currently racing for LCR Team) made the LCR banner stand out.
To date the LCR Team has taken part into more than 550 Grands Prix scoring 74 podiums in three different categories.
Today, March 29, 2016 on his 20th anniversary, the Team is proud to introduce his new logo, in the iconic LCR colors (red, black, white, gold). A renewed lettering is enhanced by a graphic sign of symbolic value: there is indeed the will to recall, in a stylised form, the glorious winged goddess of Victory, the Nike of Samothrace.

LUCIO CECCHINELLO ED LCR: 30 ANNI NEL MONDO DELLE CORSE, 20 ANNI DI STORIA DEL TEAM E 10 ANNI NELLA MOTOGP

Il 2016 rappresenta un traguardo importante per Lucio Cecchinello ed il Team LCR Honda. Tre sono gli anniversari che ricorrono proprio nel mese di Marzo: 30 anni di carriera dell'ex pilota e Team Manager, 20 anni del Team nel Motomondiale e 10 anni nella classe MotoGP con Honda.
Era il Marzo del 1986 quando Lucio sedicenne entrava per la prima volta in un circuito come meccanico nel Trofeo Honda Italia NS 125.

10 anni più tardi nasceva il Team LCR (Lucio Cecchinello Racing) che esattamente il 29 Marzo 1996 prendeva ufficialmente parte al suo primo GP sul circuito di Shah Alam in Malesia (classe 125cc). Team manager e porta bandiera della squadra, Lucio Cecchinello, nel corso degli anni, è stato affiancato da talenti delle due ruote come Nobby Ueda, Roberto Locatelli, Alex De Angelis, Mattia Pasini, Casey Stoner, Randy De Puniet e David Checa.
Dopo aver dato l’addio nel 2003 alla sua carriera agonistica, Lucio decide di dedicarsi esclusivamente al ruolo di Team Manager e il duro lavoro e la determinazione lo premiamo dandogli l’occasione di debuttare con la propria squadra nella classe regina nel 2006. Il debutto si compie in grande stile con il talento Australiano Casey Stoner che il 26 Marzo porta in pista a Jerez de la Frontera la sua Honda RC211V no.27.
Nelle stagioni successive altri grandi campioni come Randy De Puniet, Carlos Checa, Toni Elias, Stefan Bradl, Jack Miller e Cal Crutchlow (attualmente al suo secondo anno con il Team LCR) hanno fatto brillare il vessillo di LCR.
Ad oggi il Team LCR ha disputato oltre 550 Gran Premi ottenendo 74 podi nelle tre diverse categorie. In occasione del 20° anniversario che ricorre proprio oggi, 29 Marzo 2016, il Team è orgoglioso di mostrare il proprio nuovo logo che, oltre a rinnovarsi nel lettering, si arricchisce di un segno grafico di grande valore simbolico: vi è infatti la volontà di richiamare, in forma stilizzata, l'immagine della Nike di Samotracia, mitologica dea alata della Vittoria, riprendendo inoltre i colori iconici di LCR (rosso, nero, bianco e oro).
Lucio Cecchinello (LCR Honda Team Principal): “Dal 1986 ad oggi io ed il Team LCR abbiamo fatto molta strada e questo anniversario mi riempie di orgoglio. Il mondo delle corse è parte integrante della mia vita, la mia più grande passione e ogni singolo giorno io e tutti i miei collaboratori ci impegniamo al massimo per far crescere il Team LCR insieme. Ho avuto la fortuna di praticare uno sport incredibile e di collaborare con dei veri talenti. Ci sono stati momenti buoni e momenti difficili ma non ho mai pensato di smettere. Il sostegno della mia famiglia in primis, il supporto dei miei collaboratori e dei nostri partners mi ha sempre dato la carica per andare avanti e cercare di migliorarmi. Se guardo indietro non riesco ad immaginare una vita senza corse”.
