Xavi Vierge dug deep as he continued adjusting the setup of his Mistral 610 for the 20 lap sprint on Sunday before producing a strong time to conclude the second day of action positively. The 18 year old’s best in the session saw him cut a further 0.389 from yesterday’s quickest, which he set on his penultimate run. The result leaves Vierge fully charged for tomorrow, where he aims to clinch a competitive qualifying position ahead of his debut Grand Prix in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Isaac Viñales carried on his relentless efforts and pushed onwards in the solitary session today. The Spaniard and the Tech3 Racing Team worked tirelessly throughout the third free practice, yet he was not able to improve on his fastest time, which he set in FP2. Nevertheless, Viñales intends to bounce back in qualifying and seal a solid grid placement for his inaugural Moto2 Grand Prix.

““I am happy with the result in FP3 because we
made another important step forward. Every time we run, we are get closer to the
top, which is a great sign and testament to how hard everyone is working.
Tomorrow will be the first qualifying practice of the year so I am excited for
it but my attitude is to enjoy the session and not put pressure on myself. I am
learning all the time and today was productive yet again. Thanks to the Tech3
Racing Team for their efforts once more and also to KYB for constantly bringing
new parts for me to try. I am ready for the fight and I’m keen to see what we
can achieve.”
Isaac Viñales
Position : 27th - Time : 2'01.795 – Laps : 37
“After the encouraging session in free practice 2
yesterday, I was pretty eager to jump on the bike and cut my time further in
FP3. However, it ended up being a tricky day because, similarly to the test, I
lost my references and got a bit frustrated that I couldn’t lower the gap.
Despite what happened, I am still focused and am certain that we can turn it
around tomorrow in the qualifying session."
